Its that time of the week again, another week of rap has passed by and whether you were to busy to stay in tune or have been up to date, I’m here for you with my 5 favorite rap songs of the week. Agree? Or Disagree? Let me know.

Cadillactica – Big K.R.I.T.

Big K.R.I.T. is a southern rapper who has been putting work in for minute with notable releases such 4Ever N a Day & Return of 4Eva. He dropped one of my favorite tracks of the year in MT. Olympus this past spring and has been getting national recognition since then. This album was his sophomore release under Def Jam Records and it has been getting a lot of positive feedback this week. My favorite tracks off this are King of the South and Do You Love Me, if you’re into southern rap I would give this a listen. Listen to it on Spotify or buy it on iTunes.

Kingpin- RL Grime feat. Big Sean

RL Grime is an EDM trap artist and has made some crazy rap remixes over the years, such as his remix to Kanye West’s Mercy. For this song he recruited Big Sean to ride over his beat and Sean provides the hype to hang it. Listen to it here.

Deliver- Lupe Fiasco feat. Ty Dolla $ign

Chicago rapper Lupe Fiasco released another single off his upcoming album Tetsuo and Youth which drops January 20th. This is the third song hes dropped with Ty Dolla $ign this year with the other releases being $nitches and Next to it. I’ve enjoyed all the collaborations from them so far and this one is no different. Listen to it here.

Love Don’t Live Here No More. – Ghostface Killah

Wu-Tang’s Ghostface dropped a dope single for his upcoming album 36 Seasons dropping December 9th. Ghost paints a vivid picture of a sad love story in this song, its nice to see rap storytelling is still alive and well, listen to the song here.

This Side – A$AP Ferg feat. YG

A$AP Ferg dropped two songs this week with this release and the other named Perfume. However, I thought this one was better, as he recruited West Coast rapper YG to help out. In case you didn’t know, YG will be at UIC this Friday with T.I. and UIC students get a discount for the show, so get tickets while you can. In the mean time listen to this track here.

This concludes this weeks StandOUTS, check back next week for another post. You can follow the blog on twitter @UICstandOUTS or My Spotify as I usually update new music weekly. See you next week.
