Its that time of the week again, do you remember any notable hip-hop releases that came out since 11/23? Well here are my five favorite since then, these aren’t necessarily the best, just the ones that stood out the most to me this week.

Sunday Candy- Chance the Rapper feat. Social Experiment

Chance the Rapper blessed us with a new song this week alongside his band social experiment. For a more thorough breakdown of the song check out my fellow blogger for UIC radio post earlier this week here. For now you can listen to the song below.

No Look – Rockie Fresh, Saba, & Jarred AG

Smoko Ono is a producer from Chicago who has made some crazy beats this year such as Feel That for Vic Mensa. This week Smoko released a new song, recruiting some of Chicagos upcoming rappers Saba & Rockie Fresh to rap on his beat. Not only is the beat great but check out the artwork with the song, awesome. Listen below.

FERG Forever Mixtape – A$AP Ferg

A$AP Ferg, the rapper most famous for his songs Shabba and Work, dropped a great mixtape friday. My favorite aspect of this project is the variety of producers Ferg recruited for this tape that make not one song sound alike. There also some big name features on this such as MIA, Twista, and Big Sean, give this project a listen below or download here.

#000000 & #Ffffff Mixtape- The Neighbourhood

This has got to be one of the weirdest things I’ve seen in hip hop in awhile, a rock band dropping a mixtape? Either way, this mixtape is so dope to me because of how the Neighbourhoods indie sound meshes so well with the rap aspects of the tape. This album has huge catalog of big name rap features such as G-Eazy, Danny Brown, & French Montana. Listen below or download here.

Truly Blessed Album – SD

SD is a rapper from Chicago, who was formerly in Chief Keef’s GBE label. This album technically came out last week but I just started playing it this week and its crazy. In my opinion this is the best GBE affiliated project since Keef released Finally Rich back in 2012. If you like Chief Keef or the Chicago drill rap scene give this a Listen on the Spotify link below or purchase on itunes.
