In case you have not heard the latest and the greatest in music news, a documentary featuring the early years of the late Kurt Cobain’s life in Aberdeen, Washington, the early Nirvana years, and tons of unheard footage from Cobain himself. The documentary, Kurt Cobain: Montage of Heck directed by Brett Morgen has been releasing teaser videos on the internet since the announcement of the film. The trailer will leave you breathless and waiting for more:
The trailer shows interviews with several people that were involved in Kurt Cobain’s early life. In an interview, the director Brett Morgen said he had wanted to get the former Nirvana member and current Foo Fighters member Dave Grohl to speak in the documentary, but he was busy recording his album Sonic Highways at the time and by the time Grohl was free, Morgen was satisfied with the work he had put together for the film.
Another item “leaked” online that is featured in the film was a short clip of Kurt singing and playing a cover of The Beatles’ “And I Love Her.” The song sung by Kurt is chilling and seems like it is the way it was meant to be sung. Kurt has a way of putting an extreme emotional performance into everything he does and even though we cannot see him singing this in the leaked clip, we can feel his presence in the song and his epic rendition.
The film will be realized exclusively on HBO on May 4th. IF you do not have HBO, the film will be available via other “not-so-legal” websites. So, if you need to find it, you can find it on May 4th. This is a must watch for anyone who even slightly likes Kurt Cobain, Nirvana, or grunge music. However, if you only slightly like any of the following, you have a problem.
