So far 2016 has been crazy for rap music, with Kanye, Future, and Drake blessing us with new music to start off the year. As a result, a lot of great releases go unnoticed because of the music dropping by these high profile artists. It’s ok though, I got you fam, Here are 6 songs I think have gone under the radar early this year and are bound to blow up in 2016.
Ring – Ye Ali feat. Dutchboy
This song is pure hit, everything from the beat, to the catchy hook, to the flawless vocals by Ye Ali. Mark my words this will be on every radio station by the end of the year, looking forward to more Ye Ali releases this year.
Back Up – THEY.
I never heard of THEY. until it was announced he was on Bryson Tiller’s tour this spring. When that happened I decided to check out his music and this song stood out the most. The beat is crazy, and the vocals go perfectly with the beat. This song is too much of banger to not blow up soon, watch.
Hercules – Young Thug
Honestly, Young Thug can’t be stopped at this point and this track off his most recent mixtape “I’m Up” is ridiculous. Metro Boomin on the production kills this and Thug’s flow is flawless, look for Thugger to have another huge hit in 2016. #AnotherOne
I Wanna Benz – YG feat. Nipsey Hussle & 50 Cent
This song starts out with a skit from the famous movie Menace ii Society to set the scene perfectly. YG paints a great picture of the rough life in south central LA over this classic west coast type beat. Nipsey and 50 also hold it down, delivering great guest verses.
Cut it – O.T. Genasis
The “Coco” rapper is back and has another hit on his hands. This beat is fire, and the hook will be stuck in your head for days. Congratulations to O.T. he’s definitely not a one-hit wonder because this song has the potential to be as big as Coco was in 2014.
Traphouse – Tory Lanez
My pick for breakout artist of the year, Tory Lanez is the next superstar out of Toronto with his mix of rapping and singing. This song is no different, as Tory delivers over an awesome beat providing a great hook and overall vocals. Right now, the radio is loving his “Say That” single but look out for this one be a hit very soon.
