If I haven’t made my interests painfully obvious: Katerina’s my name, and finding the most delicious, handcrafted, indulgent food Chi-town has to offer is my game.
But don’t let my goofy and relaxed demeanor fool you; food is serious biz.
Dating back to my childhood in Greece, food has always played an important role in my life. Yes, it is fuel—essential for every day energy building and nutrient storing—but that’s just the basics.
To me, food is language, a form of communicating with loved ones. Nothing says “I love you” to me, more than the camaraderie created by gathering around a table of flavorful dishes.
And the only things I covet more than a traditional Greek dinner are pastries and desserts, which is precisely why I surprised my cousins with a half-dozen doughnuts from Glazed and Infused, voted Chicago’s best doughnuts three years in a row.
Eat your heart out, kids.
G & I DOES NOT PLAY AROUND, GUYS. These doughnuts are works of art.
In addition to these regular menu items pictured above, Glazed and Infused also crafts seasonal confections for nearly every holiday/occasion, ranging from birthdays and Chicago Bulls’ games to Christmas and Saint Patty’s Day.
All of their doughnuts are handcrafted and made with tons of TLC, which is why I highly recommend that you treat yo self if you’re ever in the Loop, Lincoln Park, River North, and Streeterville areas.
And for all my UIC/West Loop peeps, make sure to ride the CTA 8 bus to State & Lake and hit up their flagship store in the Fulton Market District before your AM classes for the freshest doughnuts and friendliest service, ever.
And remember, friends:
